Explanation of the Sidebar

The right-hand sidebar of the Defend Us In Battle web apostolate -DUiB for short- has much going on and, I think, deserves an explanation.

Top to bottom then...

About The Site: I begin with a photo of "St. Michael's Justice," an image of the last thing that enters the devil's mind, namely, a thrusted spear. Additionally, you'll see a bit of text which briefly describes the purpose and scope of my website. For more detailed reading of how I got here, see my conversion story.

Feed ticker and subscription options come next in the form of the light blue rectangle - click it and get automatic DUiB updates delivered right to your Inbox, no fuss and no spam, ever!

Snippets of recent comments left by site visitors are displayed in the next section. Feel free to comment on any of my articles, anonymously or by name. There is a comment tool at the bottom of every blog post, so make your voice heard whether you agree with me or not.

My Profile and e-mail address are next in the array.

Now you'll come to a pair of additional subscription tools (via e-mail or RSS reader). Choose one and get with the program if you didn't click on the blue rectangle described above! ;^)

Recommended Links and Recommended Titles need no explanation; you'll also see what book is currently occupying space on my nightstand.

You'll then encounter three auto-updating feeds, and these are great little tools for learning various facets and goings-on in the faith:
  • Catholic Answers Live widget
  • Zenit Catholic Newsfeed
  • Catechesis and Apologetics by Mark Shea

Catholic Quotes, a cascading menu of Site Archives, and a Keyword Search engine are your next stops.

Some awesome St. Michael prayers come after, along with a cool photo of what I think Revelation 12.7 must look like from the ground.

The Creed follows, then there's a PayPal button if you'd like to buy Battle Site T-shirts, a Blogger's Choice Awards button (please vote!), a plug for Firefox 2 (a much better way to see web than Internet Explorer) and the site Contents License round things out.

Please e-mail me with gripes and moans, comments or kudos, or suggestions on how I can improve the site. I'm at defendusinbattle AT gmail DOT com.

Thanks for the support everyone, and God bless!
